Heather Robinson, LCSW
Heather Robinson received her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Christian University and obtained her Master's in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2009. She has worked with a variety of clients to help them overcome barriers to a fulfilling life and reach their goals.
Heather began her career in community mental health, serving clients who experienced trauma, addiction,and substance abuse. During this time, she worked with clients in diversion programs such as Drug Court and Mental Health Court, and she helped clients communicate effectively with outside agencies such as probation departments and social security. Heather Robinson enjoyed watching clients learn new coping skills and break free from addiction and trauma.
Heather has also worked for three years in a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program, serving adolescents and adults who experienced multiple hospitalizations, self harm, suicide attempts, and addiction. She formed close relationships with clients as they learned skills to safely cope with life stressors and form meaningful relationships.
Heather Robinson has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Seeking Safety trauma treatment model. Heather's approach to counseling is client-centered and open-minded. She enjoys helping clients identify their goals in life and reach those goals to create a fulfilling life.
