Jen Lympus is a Clinical Social Worker, licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Rockhurst University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work in 2005 from The University of Kansas. Jen enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults and families.
Jen has received extensive DBT training through the Missouri Department of Mental Health and uses DBT and mindfulness skills to help her clients build a stronger sense of self, better manage their emotions, and develop healthier relationships with others. Jen has also completed Level II training in EMDR, which she finds as a complimentary treatment modality for clients who have experienced trauma.
Jen has experience working in a variety of settings, which includes being a teaching parent in an adolescent girls group home, working as a family resource specialist with children and their families at Spofford, a residential facility for children, and at Crittenton Children’s Center as a in home DBT therapist for children, adolescents and their families. Jen has found DBT skills helpful in building stronger and healthier family systems. Jen has been in private practice for the past 7 years.
Jen’s work comes from a strengths based perspective, and her primary focus is to provide clients the essential tools to decrease suffering and to find hope to build a life worth living.
