Valerie Dubois, LPC
Valerie Dubois is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and Guidance. She utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Gottman Method of couple's therapy.
Her professional experience focuses on providing advocacy and guidance for adolescents and adults seeking management and relief from PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, phase of life problems, and interpersonal relationship issues. Valerie Dubois also guides individuals as they navigate through career and identity development. Prior to joining Brookside Counseling, Valerie facilitated skills and provided support as a therapist and clinical coordinator for the Thalia House. Next, she focused several years facilitating group and individual DBT therapy at the Lilac Center.
Valerie uses a mindfulness and acceptance-based therapeutic approach with her clients. She believes that understanding, accepting, and committing to our values is an integral part of recovery and creating a meaningful life. Valerie aims to provide tools and support to allow individuals to resolve their past and thrive in the present.
Valerie Dubois is a proud member of the Kansas City community and the captain of her kickball team.
